“SMART WALL” REINFORCED EARTH RETAINING WALLS FOR DUARTESFER, LDA. IN BARCELOS – PORTUGAL

“Smart-Wall” earth retaining system was selected for the construction of the earth retaining walls to create a platform for the enlargement of the factory Duartesfer – Construções Metálicas, Lda., in Barcelos.

Using the “Smart-Wall” reinforced earth system, Farcimar, S.A., was responsible for the project for the conception and execution of two retaining walls with maximum height of 4.80 (Muro 1) and 7.60m (Muro 2), placing 1.374,00 m2 of wall..

The “Smart-Wall” system innovates using rough linear metallic reinforcements with high friction adhesion and high performance, combined with monitorization devices.

The project, panel fabrication and transportation to the work site were made by Farcimar, S.A. and the assembly was made by Arouconstroi, S.A..
